A story of adolescent compassion and courage.

The South Shore Boy

by Brian H Langille

The South Shore Boy is Langille’s first novel. It is the remarkable story of Jamie Larkin, an immature boy coming of age in the 60s in a loveless home.

Jamie is an athletic preteen who is taken under the wing of his father’s police colleague and boxing coach.  He also befriends his junior high school wrestling coach as he prepares himself for the challenges of adolescence. Jamie defies vicious bullies, learns about adolescent sex and writes to express his suppressed emotions.

What is to become of Jamie? The answers lie between the covers of The South Shore Boy.
